GRAHAN
tells the story of Parvati Shastri (Paro), a poor middle
class with high values and rich in Indian culture. Parvati is the
daughter of Shastriji, a retired classical music teacher and she herself
teaches classical dance to school children to make two ends meet.
One evening, while returning home from one of her performances, Parvati
is abducted and brutally raped by Sanjay Acharya, the son of the Chief
Minister. Parvati is kept a prisoner by Sanjays goons until
her wounds have healed so as to erase all traces of evidence. When
she is finally released and thrown on the roads, she is rescued by
a passerby who happens to be a journalist. An FIR is lodged against
Sanjay and the Chief Minister is informed of his sons act.

The
CM, a man of high morals and immaculate track record warns his son
that if the charges against him are proven, he, his own father would
not stand by him. To avoid exposure, Sanjay hatches a diabolical plot
to assassinate his own father and thus try to cover up the incident.
The CM is assassinated and his daughter Sunita is compelled to accept
the nomination of her fathers party to the post of CM. However,
justice does take its course and Sanjay is arrested on charges of
rape. Sunita and everyone close to her can obviously never dream for
a moment that her own brother could be guilty of such a crime. She
and all her advisers believe that it is a move of the opposition to
discredit their family name. She pleads with Jaggu to handle the case
for Sanjay. It is Jaggus first major case. In court he demolishes
the young women, accusing her of being a whore. She loses her mind
with the trauma of her shame and disappears. That night, there is
a party to celebrate. Sanjay gets drunk and confesses to the rape
to Jaggu. Jaggu is shocked at the consequence of what he has done.
He
cannot bear the fact that he has started his career with a lie and
decides to find and set things right for her if he can. He searches
all over the city and finally finds her digging for food in a garbage
dump. She has completely lost her mind and remembers nothing. Jaggu
takes her away from the city and tries to help her regain her memory.
After a series of incidents, everything one day comes back to her
and she stabs Jaggu and runs away. Meanwhile, Jaggu returns to the
city where Sunita has won her election. An elaborate function is organized
for the swearing in ceremony to which the elite of the city have been
invited. It is during this ceremony, in the presence of this huge
crowd, that Paro suddenly appears and shoots Sanjay! Jaggu is stunned
and asks her why she did this.

She
replies that she had to get justice and now that her life is finished
she does not care for the consequences. Against his brother, Raghus
wishes and against his fiancee, now Chief Minister, Sunitas
wishes, Jaggu decides to defend Parvati in her murder trial. Jaggus
ideals are high and he earnestly believes that he has to get legal
as well as social justice for Parvati. In the climactic court scene
between the two brothers, the drama unfolds
Can Jaggu Sinha meet
Sunitas and Raghus challenge in court? Can a just and sincere
advocate get justice for the helpless, downtrodden Paro?
Can Jaggus plea for justice be heard by all?Did the court do
justice?
Did Paro get justice- judicial as well as social?
Can justice be eclipsed?
